2011 Season Planning

I have been trying to figure out which races I want to do for the 2011 season. There are so many races I want to do but I have whittled them down to just a few. On the top of my list, is the Colorado Trail Race http://www.climbingdreams.net/ctr/ a monster 500 mile unsupported absurdly epic journey. The race starts in Denver, CO and ends in Durango, CO following the Colorado Trail. There are no prizes, points, or welcoming committee for finishers, just the comfort of knowing the episodes of Man v.s. Wild that you watched in the off season finally paid off.

Here are a few other great events I want to attend this season.

Boulder Cyclocross

I had a great time competing in the Boulder Cyclocross series finals yesterday in Lyons, CO. The weather was unseasonably warm. The course was tough with several steep run ups, fast technical down hills and bumpy straight a ways. I placed 21st and I am already looking forward to next year’s cyclocross season.

Eurand CF Cycle For Life

participated in the Colorado Chapter’s 2010 Eurand CF Cycle For Life on Saturday, October 2nd. The event was a great success, with perfect weather, an enthusiastic group of riders and volunteers, lots of good food, and the event raised over $182,000 towards finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. A huge thank you goes out to Jan Klepinger – CFF Special Events Coordinator, for working so hard to make sure this event was such a success.

InterBike Success

Had a great time at Interbike and loved the FRS booth and Reps…. Thanks for the samples : )

King of the Rockies

I took 8th place in my class, competing in the King of the Rockies – Winter Park Mountain Bike series on 08-28-2010. This was my first competitive race and I had a blast doing it. Tough competitors, treacherous trails and over 4,000 feet of climbing made for a great day. After cresting the fist major climb of the race, I lost my rear brake to mechanical issues and completed the down hill section of the race with only the front brake……
